Obama as Hillary's running-mate, a new twist

From the Political Wire:

Following Newt Gingrich's lead, Rudy Giuliani is the latest Republican presidential aspirant to predict the Democratic presidential ticket. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, the former New York Mayor predicted Sen. Hillary Clinton would win her party's nomination and pick Sen. Barack Obama as her running mate. Said Giuliani: "They will run together because Barack Obama has had such a good showing and it's going to be very hard for her to deny him a place on the ticket."

Here's an angle I didn't consider on my post on possible running mates for Hillary. I've had conversations with people who support Obama and viscerally dislike Hillary, and those negatives amongst the Democratic base might be neutralized by picking him. And gaining access to his donor lists would be a nice plus as well. I'm also a big fan of the turnout theory of elections rather than the median voter model, discussed here. Hillary might be wise to choose him and roll into the general election with an energized, unified front against the Republicans.
