It's not exactly Bill Clinton level (who gave the first six minutes or so of his first State of the Union Address from memory), but Sarah Palin handled the
malfunctioning of the teleprompter with alomb. It only happened a few times, apparently, but Palin had to deal with a teleprompter that would skip ahead, and she did so smoothly, it seems, by repeating lines from memory and by ad libbing (the "lipstick" line).
Well, whatever. I'm more impressed with how smooth she was and how she could look into the camera.
