Huckabee gaining at a steady clip

A NY Times article today talks about the Huckster making gains. Huckabee is right on track to make some serious waves. He's jumped to second in Iowa this month. He's overtaken Thompson in NH recently.

The knock on him in the article is the lack of funding. This is not that important, I submit. First of all, the free media from a strong second in Iowa is worth more than a hundred million dollars. And second, it's better than a hundred million dollars. This is not only because it's actual votes rather than a silent primary victory, but rather, as the Times points out, his candidacy can remain under the radar, taking his record as governor of Arkansas out of the media spotlight and turning a second in Iowa into a big win.

Conservatives have problems with the record of the Huckster in Arkansas. But Huckabee's liberalism, understated social conservatism, and sparkling personality could be general election dynamite for the Republicans. Could it overcome the fact that '08 is the Democrats' year? No. I think Hillary's our next president. But it would be interesting to have a Republican who is the anti-Hillary in so many ways, to see how her campaign would react.

The real knock on the Huckster is his lack of foreign policy experience. But that's a knock on all the first-tier candidates, really.

Huckabee is like the many other candidates who are bashing Hillary. Even democrats are bashing her to gain success and push her out of the way. Huckabee is too uncertain on the topics in this election and should have pulled out. Huckabbe does have some certain views that are very good and well liked but he needs more experience before bashing someone who actually has more credentials and will win bigger states than just New Hampshire. This doesnt mean that a republican is bad, i'am just saying he needs more experience.

I think that Huckabee should be less focused on what Hillary is doing wrong and ways of bringing her down and more time on his campaigning.
