Thompson the big loser

I agree with PowerLineBlog on the debate: "Big loser? Fred Thompson. He has to be very careful lest he become a joke."

The Thompson jokes, the Huckabee-Paul colloquy, and the Giuliani public life-private life answer will get the sound bites on the news, I predict.

This will favor the Huckster. The Giuliani answer is completely rational for the beltway punditry, but too reminiscent of Clinton to earn him points with Republican primary voters. Remember, the sound bites are so short that the full answers and the context will not get air time. YouTube can provide longer segments, but that's only for people who want to watch them.
