According to a new NewsMax/Zogby poll of registered Democrats in Iowa, Hillary is up with 30%, Edwards is at 23%, and Obama 19%.
That sounds impressive, until you read that the margin of error in the poll is plus-or-minus 4.5%. In fact that means it's a dead heat between Hillary and Edwards, since Hillary's lead over Edwards is not greater than the doubled margin of error.
But of course, "Hillary conquers Iowa" is a much much catchier news item than "Nobody knows who will win Iowa."
Hillary has moved up 6 points since May in the same poll, and that is news. But she still does not have the kind of lead Romney has in Iowa, where he's up 33-14 over Giuliani, with Thompson (we can call him by his surname now that Tommy Thompson has dropped out) at 12%.
