Edwards wins according to a focus group

Taegan Goddard's political wire has this to say:

The Associated Press observed a focus group that used dials to gauge their reactions to the various candidate responses during Monday's Democratic presidential debate in South Carolina.

John Edwards had the best score when advocating for national health care...

Of the 12 focus group members, four thought Edwards won the debate, three thought Obama prevailed and two picked Clinton. In particular, the focus group thought Edwards was the most "genuine" of the candidates.

This was a shocker to me, since I've been blasting Edwards ever since the debate. But that's why focus groups and polls are good--to break you out of yourself in order to see different perspectives. And this is certainly a different perspective than the one I've taken recently on Edwards, namely that he's a phony-baloney.
